Concrete drill

A concrete drill is a serious tool that will precisely drill holes in the most difficult substrates. The drill is used for trepanning drilling in asphalt, concrete, stone, and other building materials. Using a drill, you get rid of unwanted vibrations when drilling into a given surface. Due to the fact that the drill does not transfer vibrations to the adjacent area, the safety of the operator and objects is increased.

Another advantage of using a drill with a diamond drill is that it produces minimal chips, and the holes themselves are clean and do not require additional renovation work. This shortens the working time of the drill operator himself, he can quickly move on to other tasks. Modern concrete drills can drill into reinforced concrete, and the holes have a diameter of 152 cm. Diamond drills used when working with a concrete drill are ideal for creating holes for electrical and plumbing installations, as well as HVAC.

Types of core drilling equipment

Types of concrete drills can be divided into three groups:

  • light
  • medium-heavy
  • Heavy

With light drilling equipment, you can drill holes up to 7.62 cm in diameter. In this category, you will primarily find hand-held drills. You can also use such a small drill to finish drilling holes that have already been made.

Medium drills are used for more serious construction work. They are powered by a 15-18 ampere engine, and the size of the holes they drill is 20 cm. A drill from this category consists of a column, a post, a base with an anchor socket, a cooling system and, of course, an engine.

Among heavy drills, you will find really powerful and solid equipment. Drills are powered by hydraulic or electric motors. The drills of such a hole saw are designed for drilling into reinforced structures. They are also recommended for use when your work requires greater productivity. The base of such a drill is almost 18 cm.

What should you know before you start using a drill?

Your choice of the right drill should be supported by the appropriate knowledge about each of them. Of course, you have to put in some effort. The easiest way will be to go to a construction equipment rental company and get some knowledge about drills there. These obvious parameters are the size of the drill, drilling accuracy, the type of material you will be drilling in, the availability of water where you will be drilling, and whether the drilled material is reinforced.

Additionally, you should get a power supply, anchors, a hammer drill, a level, a measuring tape, a vacuum pump, and an extension cord.

If you don’t feel up to using a drill yourself, you can always have a professional do the job. Of course, a lot depends on the difficulty of making such drills.

What liquid can I use to clean a concrete drill?

Our liquids are designed with safety and effectiveness in mind. BETOFF-BIO liquid easily removes cement and concrete residues from construction machines, including concrete drills. BETOFF-BIO consists only of plant-based raw materials, does not stink, does not evaporate and will not damage the skin. Its effectiveness allows for quick cleaning of machines and tools used on construction sites.
